Day 9 - Learning and Making mistakes

   Hello, I am proud to say I am on my way for changing my eating habits and exercising habits.
  As I mention in my title to day is DAY 9!!! So, I have been learning how much my body really needs during a day.
        So, January 1- 5, I did very well keeping track of my calories and trying to cut my calories and walk to work whenever I could ( The place I work is not far from my house). Saturday of that week I weight myself and my weight stayed the same. So, I knew I was on the right track, I did not burn or lose weight like I should, but remaining the same weight is a good sign that your doing the right thing with your eating and exercising, but you need to either cut more food or work out harder and longer.
    Now January 6-12 week, I used a pedometer called a " Fit Bit" which tracks exactly how many steps I took and how much I am burning, ( it does not recognize running and such but does know when your walking slow and when your walking fast). This Fit Bit  is very useful and I will explain more about it in another post.
           Monday, was good day, I watched what I ate and went for a long walk  Tuesday, came and I got sick toward the middle of the day and my calories where all over the place but low, but today came, I was starving. I defiantly went over my calorie in take. I had pancakes( 2 big ones) and for lunch I had alot of random things, dinner was controlled but I defiantly went over my intake because of lunch and dinner. So, as you see I have habit of over eating when I skip a meal or when I get sick even goes into when I am snacking. ( Lunch is one meal of the day I found m self over eating, I do not know the reason but I had a habit of eating a lunch with bunch of snacks, till I felt full.)
       So, as you can guess this was upsetting to me, because I was doing so well and then I just came out like a ravous animal. After I ate what I did today, I feel guilty because I knew if I stopped and thought about it and prayed things would have been different, so it is my fault and though I am seeing where I have impulses to just eat till I feel full. I am encouraged because I see my problem and I will work at it till I learn to not over snack eat. Also bring it to the Lord in prayer,when I want to snack to make myself feel better,but to Him in prayer when I am stressed (or just want to eat) or going on a walking praying to Him.
        So, tomorrow is going to be so hard because I am meeting some friends for lunch and my cousin and I are having a movie night. So, I will update at the end of the week for how my calories go for the rest of the week.

So, even if I defiantly messed up and have alot of habits I need to break and have alot more effort to put in and raise the bar, does not mean I should quit. My goal that is in my mind is 6 months from now I can wear a topless dress or tank top for the summer and not be ashamed. That by my 21 birthday I will be able to wear a cute dress to my party and be proud!

Day 2 - Starting all over again

Hello, I am sorry but I finally am able to rearrange my blog and let you know what I am doing.

To start off HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2013! I hope God blesses you in the new year and also to help you get your resolutions up and running.

So, as you know I am on a weight loss journey that started January 1, 2013.

THE GOAL: Is to lose 40 pounds by my Birthday August 31, 2013.

I will be learning how to lose weight the HEALTHY way. I will trying to get all the necessary food groups in, fat, grain, dairy, protein etc. My goal is to lose weight but to eat healthier as well.

For exercising, I am a bit all over the place to be honest. I am going to get into running again to prepare for a race in March, but I will be asking people who are in  fitness training to explain how to exercise and what work outs are useful and long term. ( I do not have a gym membership, so I need to figure out how to work out different parts of my body at home). So, I will be trying to find stuff out and feel free to share as well!

I will also be finding encouraging posts and quotes to put up here as well. To, take ( If you are trying to lose weight) it day by day and when you mess up not to just stop and sit in your failure but to try again and work for it messing up and succeeding!

So, stick around because it's 2013 and it is time to final work hard at losing weight and not to look at the end result but to pay attention on the journey there. Take it day by day.

Goals for Week One

         Goals For Week One- Getting on the Right Track


1. To put in a fruit at breakfast, besides orange juice

2. To walk everyday for 40 minutes- fast pace

3. Write Calories down, cut out sugary food and replace with more protein and fiber.

4. Get recipes for good, healthy snacks and heathly breakfast choices....

Changes to the blog

      Hi! Sorry, it has taken me so long to figure out how this blog is going to work. I had many suggestions and I been planning and trying to figure out how best to share with people and best benefit the you guys.
          So, what I have come to conclusion is that I going to need to show you through me, how to get into better habits. I will making this blog personal all the way. I will dedicate myself fully as the " Dummy" So, I will be posting more on what I am experiencing and not really what sciences says how we should go about it, but more how to just get into a habit that fits into your busy life.
                 So below are what I will doing with my blog as it relates with me. So, you know what to expect and how to use it.
                                                               GOALS
  1. I will be setting goals weekly. That would consit of exercising plans and eating plans.
  2. I will be finding on the web good recipes ( At least 2) for healthy eating habits - I will mainly focus on making healthy breakfasts, lunch and snacks.
  3. I will be tracking calories, using an online website and will post here.
  4. I will be having people who are into fitness and exercise and they will be guest posting To give tips and encouragement.
  5.  I will be doing posting on different kinds of exercise methods or ideas to share, I will be sharing what I will do or do. ( I can not afford to go to a gym)
So, that is where the blog will be going. I will be getting alot of people who are into Health and Fitness to share ideas and encouragement. So, thank you for your patients and if you want to join me in this make sure you write calories down and make sure you are exercise. As, I try to show you with my life and how to continue to work at getting healthy through ups and downs,( with getting healthy )there are alot of down days but it is about continuing even though you feel like you have failed. To make habits that stick and how to work at it and really to want it to motivate yourself!
